Intellectual Property (IP) Counsel | £85,000 – £110,000 | Remote (UK)

My client, a fast-growing international organisation, is seeking an Intellectual Property (IP) Counsel – Litigation & Enforcement to join their expanding legal team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified lawyer with strong IP enforcement experience to take a key legal role supporting investigations, enforcement and litigation activity across multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day legal advice to global IP investigations and enforcement teams across online and offline matters
  • Assess matters for escalation to civil litigation, criminal referral, administrative or customs action
  • Advise on evidence sufficiency, collection methods, documentation and chain of custody
  • Support client IP litigation alongside external and local counsel, including pre-action assessment, pleadings, disclosure and evidence
  • Prepare and support criminal referral packages for law enforcement agencies and prosecuting authorities
  • Liaise with law enforcement, customs, regulators, platforms and external legal advisers across multiple jurisdictions
  • Advise on the legality of investigative and enforcement methods, including online investigations, test purchases, evidence gathering and data handling
  • Provide legal support to revenue recovery and compliance response functions, including subpoenas, court orders, disclosure requests and other legal process
  • Develop and maintain legal guidance, investigation standards, playbooks, templates and compliance procedures
  • Manage multiple matters simultaneously, providing clear, practical advice and escalating legal or reputational risks where appropriate


Skills

  • Qualified lawyer admitted to practice in the UK, an EU member state or a US jurisdiction
  • 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE)
  • Strong experience in IP litigation, enforcement, anti-counterfeiting, anti-piracy, trademark/copyright enforcement or brand protection
  • Excellent understanding of evidence, investigations and legal enforcement processes
  • Experience working with external counsel, law enforcement, prosecutors, customs or regulatory bodies would be advantageous
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, practical advice
  • Commercially minded, pragmatic and confident exercising independent legal judgement

  • £85,000 – £110,000 basic salary, depending on experience and location
